I’ll will say that my wife and I had a great time and the concert was just awesome and more than lived up to my expectations.

We sat about 10 rows behind the mix board. A little farther than I though we would considering I bought tickets the moment they went on sale. I had a great view of Gareth Darlington (rather, the back of his head) running the mix console. So, the lights dim, and the show starts...

Wow, great show! I’m not going to break down every song because performance wise, there’s no need too. Other than a slight technical problem with Ian’s bass at the beginning of Learning To Fly, the show was flawless. In no particular order, Damian, Jamie, Ian, Jason, Mike, Paul, Emily, Jacquie and Ola really do Floyd proud. No wonder David Gilmour hired the Aussie’s for his 50th b-day party!

The Fabulous Fox Theatre holds 4860 people and there were very few empty seats. A big thank you goes out to Steve (promoter) for finally bringing TAPFS to the southeast! I always knew they could draw a crowd!

The lineup:

Damian Darlington plays lead guitar with authority and just nails the guitar solos and vocals.

Ian Cattell is just a great bass player and sang most of the lead vocals. He sings Roger Waters better than Roger does!

Mike Kidson can sure fill a horn and IS Dick Parry!

Jamie Humphries is an outstanding fill-in for Steve Mac. Given just 3 weeks to fill Steve’s spot before the tour had to be nerve racking but he pulls it off like he’s been in the band for a long time. A true professional.

Paul Bonney.. well, being a very envious fellow drummer, Paul is rock solid.

Jason Sawford sets the mood with all the beautiful Rick Wright keyboard sounds we all know and love.

The girls well...  they are the icing on the cake. GGITS made it back on the set list and Ola just nailed it and drew several standing ovations from the crowd.

Just before the encore, I was surprised to see people headed to the door. IT’S NOT OVER YET PEOPLE!!! That gave my wife and I an opportunity to sneak toward the front for better seats. We ended up about 5 rows from the stage almost right in front of Damian for the final two songs, Hey You and Run Like Hell.

I have to say, this was a Pink Floyd concert. All the visuals, lights, lasers and the accuracy of the band to play and sound like Pink Floyd should make the real members of PF very proud that their music is carried on with such devotion. All the guys and gals did an outstanding job. Bravo!

So, after the band walks off stage we go to the front and there’s Mike Kidson. I introduce myself and we have a short chat then I hear my name called. It’s security... We are in for the after show!

I had a great chat with all the guys especially Ian, Damian, Mike and Jason. Paul was there only for a short time, enough for a quick picture and a little chat about drum stuff. I was also introduced to Paul’s drum tech who, come to find out, is also Nick Mason’s drum tech! Jamie is a great guy and was nice enough to show me his custom built MusicMan guitar. It was stunning and a real treat to hold.

I must say, we had a great time. The show of course was just awesome and meeting the guys just capped a great evening.

I can’t wait until the next tour!
