Another consummate performance from the Aussies tonight, much enjoyed by me and in the company of my two sons, Peter and Stephen. High point without a doubt was On the Turning Away. The band really seemed to enjoy playing that song tonight with Damian having a good chuckle right at the end, the reason for which I discovered afterwards was because Bonney wouldn't stop drumming, so the rest of the band had to carry on for a few extra bars. In fact I thought Damian was 'on fire' tonight. I felt his performance was outstanding.

Unfortunately Emily was absent from the stage this evening - apparently she has a tummy upset, but Gareth said that she should be OK for Plymouth tomorrow night. Amy, Jacquie and Ola were more than equal to the job though, with Amy and Ola singing Great Gig, which now seems to have become customary.

Skippy did not make an appearance for One of These Days. The Fairfield stage just isn't large enough with the new band line up. As it was there was a fair bit of tip toeing about when people came on and off during the show.

Wish You Were Here was played with two acoustic guitars, as opposed to one acoustic and one electric as is sometimes the case. I thought it was a particularly good rendition tonight.

Mike played four of the various types of saxophone, Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass I think they are, in his personal repertoire. He really revved it up at the end of Shine On and I thought he was going to do himself some damage with the effort he put into Set the Controls!!

The sound was the best I've known for an APFS at The Fairfield Halls. As anyone who has been there knows, it is far from good acoustically. Perhaps it was down to Gareth because he is the proud owner of a brand new sound desk, all the bells and whistles. I think he's only been using it since the tour resumed after the Easter Break.

I think I noticed one or two minor changes this evening - tweaks you might say. For example, on Time, Steve Mac just paused before beginning the guitar solo which I don't recall him doing before. I think Dave Gilmour plays it with a pause. I'm not criticising, it was just minor things here and there that maybe I hadn't noticed before.
The show finished with what has become the usual introductions of the Bruce's and Sheila's by 'Rolf' Sawford and the band took a collective bow. All together, another fabulous evenings entertainment listening to our favourite music being played to perfection.

Finally, some breaking news. Hold the front page, Steve Mac has rewritten his script again (or is he a secret visitor to this site and is just teasing us?) The interval announcement was ..... "so grab yourself a beer and we'll come back and play some Floyd". "Bunches" are off it seems.
